The Longview vineyard at Macclesfield in the Adelaide Hills is a well laid out spot and they’ve brought home their fair share of trophies to the Hills with their estate range. The Red Bucket blends are their entry level, but still sourced from Estate fruit.

Longview Red Bucket Semillon / Sauvignon Blanc, Adelaide Hills 2015

Herbaceous grassy Sauv Blanc intermixed with lemon cordial from the Semillon. Rockmelon tropicals, pea sprout greenery and an almost white stone fruit edge. Nervy and racy. Almost shrill. Don’t serve it too cold otherwise that acid will cut you like a knife. Once it opens up, there’s plenty of flavour, albeit draped on a tight frame. Good summery value.
