Yelland & Papps Sete Di Vino 2016

Sete Di Vino roughly translates from Italian as “Thirst for wine.” Made from a blend of Primitivo (Zinfandel) and Barbera. Wild ferment and 17 months in old French oak.

Yelland & Papps, Sete di Vino, Primitivo, Barbera, Barossa Valley, 2016

Plenty of perfume: licorice, blackberry, boysenberry, soft leather, rich herbs and a just roasted meaty note. Super smooth in the mouth: not quite silky but damn near seamless. Right in the groove. Just the kind of wine you want to drink: plenty of flavour and balance without being bombastic or understated. A guaranteed bottle finisher. It probably will never win a medal or a trophy but it gets points for sheer drinkability.
