DML Mornington Peninsula Pinot Noir 2019

DML is the acronym for D’Anna, Middleton and Lewis: the three families behind this label. D’Anna represented by Franco from Hoddles Creek in the Yarra; Middleton by Sam of Mount Mary on the Mornington Peninsula and Lewis being Jordan Lewis: ex premiership AFL player who has recently fallen in love with the grape. That’s a hell of a pedigree. This wine has officially sold out from the winery, but I encourage you to sign up to the mailing list for the next releases or take your opportunity when you see it on a shop shelf or a wine list.
The fruit is from an old vineyard in Tuerong. Handpicked and 100% destemmed (whole berries) and spent 14 days on skins. A combination of wild and inoculated yeasts for the fermentation and was matured in 20% new French oak.

DML, Pinot Noir, Mornington Peninsula, 2019

Exquisite, clean precise dark cherry, light sandy gravel, fragrant fresh thyme, a little stalky clove, a touch of sweet oak and smoke and an overwhelming sense of freshness. Succulent tannin with signature Mornington fruit richness presented in an excellent package. Finely tuned and offering great length and persistence.
