No need for cheeky or insightful introductions here….Michael Fragos and team have, as usual, created a very good wine indeed.
Chapel Hill McLaren Vale Shiraz, 2013
Inky and earthy. Purple fruit and bay leaf herb, sweetened with a touch of red currant and spiced with black peppercorns.
Tight, lean graphite/stone edge over deeper red fruits, evoking mental imagery of packed bunches of purple Shiraz grapes. Sharp, but balanced acidity slices through fine but slightly chalky tannins. Inimitable Chapel Hill style.
RRP: $30
Alc: 14.5%
