Pinot Noir is a fickle grape at the best of times, traditionally suited to cool-ish climes where is doesn’t get overtly ripe and retains elegance and structure.
Run Free by Singlefile, Pinot Noir, Great Southern 2014
Good Pinot nose: Cherries along with those little Kraft strawberry jam single serves, juxtaposed with smoky bacon bits. Highly perfumed yet well into the savoury spectrum. The palate is similar with some chunky, meaty flavours with spiced, full fleshy strawberry finished off with some piquant brown spice.
