Mitchell, Watervale Riesling, Clare Valley 2015
Pale gold, green highlights. Wax and lime flesh, a touch of wool and fly spray. Confusing palate: feels a little flabbier than it should be. Tastes like it’s 3 years old and in a slightly dull spot. Sure there’s the required lime and plenty of acid, but for a 2015 young dry Watervale Riesling….it’s neither razor sharp precise nor carrying enough residual sugar to justify the body. Whilst there’s nothing wrong with it, I’m a little disappointed. Will be interesting to see how it ages.
RRP: $22
Alc: 13.5%
