Rebecca Willson does her thing bloody well in Langhorne Creek. Whilst the legacy has seen the big boys take fruit from here to blend away, Bremerton are a shining beacon doing good things.
Bremerton, Bâttonage Chardonnay, Langhorne Creek 2014
Quality packaging. Barrel ferment, French oak for 12 months with plenty of lees stirring (bâttonage). Love the funky lees nose driving the lemon butter bus with wafts of toasty, patisserie notes. Creamy lemon curd, jasmine, vanilla before tight, mineral lemon and pear runs long lengths. Think Chassagne-Montrachet, but a fraction of the price.
RRP: $32
Alc: 12.5%
