It was inevitable really, every other alcoholic beverage has its own day (yes, even Sauvignon Blanc). So it comes as no surprise to see the announcement that this Friday, June 3rd is World Cider Day. Whilst the celebration has its roots in Germany, Andrew Smith of Willie Smith’s Cider in Tasmania’s Huon Valley, is helping Tassie (and Australia) lead the charge and sees it as a perfect way to lead into the winter in Hobart and the annual Dark Mofo festival.
So even if you’re not in Tassie, celebrate World Cider Day this Friday with $5AU Schooners of Willie Smith’s all day at the following venues in Tassie, New South Wales and Victoria:
VIC:
Brunswick St Cider House, Fitzroy
Local Taphouse, St Kilda
The Terminus, Clifton Hill / North Fitzroy
The Beaufort Bar, Carlton
NSW:
Royal Albert Hotel, Surry Hills
