Kalleske do things a little differently. Biodynamic wine making (shhhhhh…don’t tell the punters, they may get scared) that leads to up front wines that make no apologies for their upbringing. And yes, this is one of the first 2016 wines to come across the desk, and it’s Barossa Shiraz.
Kalleske Zeitgeist, Shiraz, Barossa, 2016

Pippy, black cherries so smooth yet has some bumps in all the right spots: like classyvelvet or velour. So drinkable on the palate, light tannins, little acidity and slurpability. Smoked bacon, stains the glass, jubey and delicious. This is like Rocky Horror from the show: Freshly born but with muscles in all the right places. Undeniably Barossa, but yet such a departure from the norm.
