Thomas Wines, Sweetwater, Shiraz, Hunter Valley 2014

Rich deep colour and pungency and vibrancy. Purple dusty Hunter violets, with a thick eye fillet steak slab of silky meatiness. The oak is there: a slight burnt toffee sweetness, but not detracting. Ripe palate with concentrated plum and sprinkle of white pepper, but the dustiness makes the wine show the true Hunter skin. Needs time.
