The familiar topographical label of the Adelaide Hills hold a bright star from the 2012 galaxy….
Deviation Road, Mary’s Reserve Shiraz, Adelaide Hills 2012*
Dark cedary oak smells melt to dark chocolate “Cherry Ripe” fruit. Sweet baking spice aromatics mix with peppery nuances and at heart, an inky core. Elegant and stately tannin structure presides over a court full of harmonious black cherry/plum fruit and oak. Alcohol is creeping up, but the implied sweetness cushions the savoury nature of the fruit. The perfume can’t help but infiltrate as you sip, giving a double whammy to the senses. Pure drinking pleasure.
*Wouldn’t you know it….they’ve just switched over to the 2013. Same RRP though.
