Single vineyard fruit, sourced from the Riversdale vineyard.
Singlefile, Shiraz, Frankland River 2013*
Blue fruit, plums and blueberries; savoury roast meats, roasted nuts. Aromatics of 5 spice, Turkish bazaar spices and sandalwood.
Beautifully poised, oak spice is a little dominant (this too, shall pass), cracked black pepper, blueberry and a core of blackberry., with a lick of licorice/fennel seed. Tannins are classy: evident, but not invasive (Like a top waiter at a decent restaurant)
It’s dark, swarthy, attractive, 5’11 and well built. It asks you for your phone number at a tapas bar in San Sebastian at midnight. It wants to dance with your wife..and you sort of don’t mind.
*They’ve just rolled over to the 2014 vintage, same RRP.
