Pizzini, Pietra Rossa, Sangiovese, King Valley 2014
Deep ruby claret. Sweetly herbed fruit: star anise, liqueur raspberry, cherries and chocolatey oak. Lightly bodied with plenty of soft red fruits and an almost giocoso lilt. Lingering soft anise and plentiful micro-tannins. Nicely valued, it doesn’t lower its colours by resorting to bluff using overly ripe fruit. Simply made for the salumi. Saluté.
RRP: $28
Alc: 13.5%
