The Scribbler is the “2nd Generation” to The Signature. This consistently is one my go to value cellaring potentials. Showcasing the “Australian Blend” of Cabernet/Shiraz, you’ll more often than not find this for less than the RRP.
Yalumba,The Scribbler, Cabernet/Shiraz, Barossa Valley, 2013
59% Cabernet and 41% Shiraz. Lightly roasted coffee beans and good quality choc oak blanket blackberry, boysenberry, black cherry, violets, fresh earth and hookah smoke. Friendly, pleasing full mouth feel as smooth oak provides instant gratification, whilst plentiful mesh tannins fortify the black fruit. The black and purple fruits bob up and down like lazy blowflies in summer resting on violet flowers. Enjoyable and full, yet doesn’t fall over itself being blocky or blunt.
RRP: $22
Alc: 13.5%
