Just in time for the Spring Racing carnival….but this gives a nod to the history of David O’Leary’s grandfather who purchased farmland at Oakbank, home to the famous Oakbank racing course. I’ve never been a fan of cartoon labels, but O’Leary Walker do make quality wines.
O’Leary Walker, The Lucky Punter, Sauvignon Blanc, Adelaide Hills, 2016
Archetypical aromas of passionfruit, tropical fruits: guava and melon. Some earthy balance with a sesame seed note too. Good Adelaide Hills tart green apple acidity with mandarin citrus flavour to off-set the obvious. Finishes chalky and dry.
RRP: $18
Alc: 11.5%
