Andrew “Thommo” Thomas is synonymous with single vineyard wines, but in this case, a few select leftover barrels are blended to create this label.
Thomas Wines, Elenay, Shiraz, Hunter Valley, 2014
By now the genesis of the naming convention is well and truly old news, so let’s let the wine speak for itself. Deep garnet in the glass, dark toasty oak overlays a dusty deep plum and purple wine gum nose with plenty of aromatic Chinese spices . Soft and spicy oak hits first to be dispelled with broad plum and dusty tannins. Undoubtedly Thommo, but a unique marque in the line-up of 2014s. Will reward cellaring.
