Bream Creek recently picked up most successful Tasmanian Exhibitor at the 2016 Royal Hobart Wine Show. No mean feat considering they didn’t get another trophy and no Tasmanian white wine received a gold (and subsequently no trophy was awarded).
Bream Creek, Chardonnay, Tasmania 2014
Medium rich nose with white peach stone fruit skin/fuzz and slices before yeasty Salada biscuit finishing off with smoky exhausted incense sticks. From the first sip: immediately this settles right into the groove: That stone fruit along with grapefruit citrus pith mesh seamlessly to create the delectable fruit combination: all balanced, nothing too far either way. The right amount of grip from well judged oak and complexity from lees ageing means this never strays too far from the golden path. This is a Yes wine. Will it age? Yes. Will it be perfect for drinking now? Yes. Should I buy it? Yes.
RRP: $30
