This label as been part of the Wynn’s lineup since 1962. That’s a lot of good wine that’s been sold at very good prices. Not uncommon to get a sneaky older vintage on a pub wine list.
Wynns Coonawarra Estate, Riesling, 2016
Almost bone dry (0.6 grams of residual sugars), no oak treatment. Just good juice guided well throughout the ferment process. Soft lemon and lime notes with plenty of white flower perfume and a touch of fruit sweetness and fennel seed. The palate gives fleshy citrus as per the nose and a reassuring acid profile: not shrill at all. Has enough length of flavour to simply enjoy now, or put away for 5 years.
RRP: $24.99 (but will be found for less)
Alc: 13.02%
