Deviation Road make an enviable range of sparkling wines and rightly take their place among some of the best in the country. But there’s no need to ignore their red wines either. No obvious signs of any taint from January bushfires.
Deviation Road, Pinot Noir, Adelaide Hills, 2015
Proper pinot nose with woody spice, baking spices, slight bacon, light cherry and in Pinot terms “the kitchen sink:” mystical forest floor. Delicously meaty and savoury with pippy cherry, smoky bacon, rose petals and like a skilled wrestler knows how to grip in all the right places. A step up from the 2013.
RRP: $45
Alc: 13.5%
