Yenda (NSW) based Berton stray over the border here to gather some grapes from the excellent district of Coonawarra. I know it’s excellent, I just visited there.

Berton Vineyards Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, Coonawarra, 2014

Big bold jammy blackcurrant and blackberry.wet pouch tobacco and chunky choc oak. The palate full of big black fruits and a touch of mint. Tannins are firm and give enough underlying structure to match mid week pizza. An okay wine, if a little simple.
