Berton have a little slice of the Barossa and here they reach to the Valley floor and the upper parts of the Eden Valley, before ageing in new and old French oak for 18 months.
Berton Vineyard, Reserve Barossa Shiraz, Barossa Valley/Eden Valley, 2014
Holy heck…this reeks of eucalyptus and white pepper! Plenty of soft blackberry, plum and cedary oak. The palate delivers a sweet oak hit before the eucalytpus, mint, pepper, Barossa plum and some soothing mocha/creamy coffee. Soft tannin profile that just manages to prop up the dark fruits.
