Here’s one of the exclusive to Dan Murphy’s wines that seems to have a bit of cred behind it. Double Trophy winner at the recent Sydney International Wine Competition, taking home the mantle-ware for ‘Best Sparkling Wine of the Competition’ and ‘Best non-Australian Wine of the Competition.’ 100% Estate grown Chardonnay.
Charles Orban, Blanc de Blanc, Brut, Troissy, Champagne, NV
Complex and rich nutty aroma with custardy sulfides, soft bread crust and grapefruit pith. Good balance and texture on the palate. Crisp acidity cuts and ducks before some light salt cracker/briny saline flavours wrapped among the grapefruit citrus, topped with fine mousse and tight beading. In the words of OutKast…so fresh, so clean. Top value and bound to be found cheaper.
