A museum release here and part of “The Pick” which is Shingleback’s wine club. 2004 was a cracker of a vintage in McLaren Vale. Sealed under cork.
Shingleback, D Block, Cabernet Sauvignon, McLaren Vale, 2004
Deep sumptuous blue and black fruits and still with savoury toasty and chocolate nuances. Concentrated blackberry heart with soft pencil cabernet overtones. This has blossomed beautifully with cedary French oak integration and now fine, powdery tannins. Finishing with lingering mature secondary meaty flavours and sweet blueberry. If you’ve got a bottle, this is ready to go so open it up and enjoy!
RRP: $55 (for current release 2013)
Alc: 14%
