Yes, Tate as in “Evans & Tate.” Whilst that brand is now looked after by the McWilliam’s family, Franklin Tate (son of the E&T founder John Tate)  has this eponymous marque. This wine exclusive to BWS and Dan Murphy’s stores in Australia.

Plenty of golden shine in the glass from some generous sunlight and oak treatment. Light nutty cream spread with plenty of mooshy nectarine stone fruit and bittersweet grapefruit. The oak isn’t subtle, but neither is it offensive. Playful acidity still keeps it light. A fair effort for those with a penchant for a bit of tree treatment.
