This is an exclusive to Cellarmasters. Named after the growers Anita Bowen and Pauline & Mark Schwarz. I’d argue there’s limited Australian wines out there with two female growers on the front label. Made by Nick Badrice.
Krondorf, Bowen & Schwarz, Shiraz, Barossa Valley, 2014
Plum and camphor smoke with choc-nut bar, clove and fennel spice and freshened by rosewater. Sweet oak initially dominates a troupe of dark/red fruits (boysenberry and mulberry) that cavalcade through before a baked raspberry cheesecake finish. The tannins are firm, with appropriate tempering, drying quality. Acidity is a little angular in trying to maintain the freshness and a “ready to drink now approach-ability.” If not cellaring for 3 years, then I think a large rib eye on the bone would suit it best.
RRP: $26
Alc: 14.5%
