A new label release for Deakin Estate, the River to Vine series which honours the Murray river, the watery lifeblood of the estate.
Deakin Estate, Cabernet Sauvignon, Victoria, 2016
Certainly smells like Cabernet: Varietal blackcurrant, tomato leaf, mashed potato earthiness and plum sauce. The palate brings easy dark fruits of blackberry, black currant and slightly sweeter boysenberry. Tannins are firm, ripe and pleasingly persistent. Serve alongside some lamb chops from the BBQ and you’re in happy land. Good value.
RRP: $10
Alc: 13.5%
