Di Giorgio Coonawarra Shiraz 2015

Di Giorgio are one of the friendly Coonawarra vignerons making their way around Australia at the moment for the annual Coonawarra Roadshow. I encourage you to get to the event and taste some of the wines coming from the district, there’s always some surprises.

Di Giorgio Family Wines, Shiraz, Coonawarra, 2015

Great to see shiraz starting to come in under 14% these days. While cabenet is king in Coonawarra, shiraz doesn’t necessarily get the accolades it deserves. Smoky raspberry over whole black peppercorns with garden herb aromas. Medium full bodied with juicy dark purple fruit. Feels bright and fresh on the palate with fine gravelly tannins completing the complexion. Look past the slightly staid label and find an instantly attractive wine. Good value.

RRP: $26
Alc: 13.8%
