Gartelmann are based in the Hunter Valley but don’t mind sourcing fruit from all over. This also has a small amount of Clare Valley Cabernet.
Gartelmann, Petit Verdot, Mudgee, 2014
Dusty, chalky, purple flowers, sweet oak kissed, blue plums, black rocks and an inky iodine. Generous plum sweet fruit, cassis, a lick of anise, earthy mushroom, velvet tannins that feel smooth in one direction and softly fuzzy in the other before a silky-smooth exit. Good drinking. No need for further cellaring.
