Not everything that comes out of Marlborough is Sauvignon Blanc…..
Giesen, Pinot Gris, Marlborough, 2016
A faint rose blush with poached pear, light musk, pink salt crystals and little soaps. Dances lightly with touches of brown spice, herbal tonic bitters crested with floral blossoms and crème anglaise. Straddles between Gris and Grigio stylistically. It’s a touch simple but the flavour is good.
