Derwent Estate Pinot Gris 2017

To say this wine is popular in its home state of Tasmania would be an understatement. It gets rationed to the distributor and Derwent Estate can’t make enough of it. 24 hours on skins and partial barrel ferment to make this wine an island of interest in a sea of mediocrity.

Derwent Estate, Pinot Gris, Granton, 2017

Alluring light rose gold colour. Varietal pears along with sweeter red notes of Turkish delight, smoky quince and light raspberry. Smooth palate with enough grippy phenolics and finishing with some anise/fennel. Moreish and a wonder for food matching. A stand out among new wave Australian Pinot Gris.

RRP: $30
Alc: 13.8%
