The Dalfarras wines are a label of Tahbilk (named after Alister Purbrick’s wife’s maiden name Dal Farra) that celebrate wine, art and family. Rosato is of course the Italian name for the rosé style.
Dalfarras, Rosato, Sangiovese, Nagambie Lakes, 2017
Cerise coloured with sunset orange highlights. Funky on the nose: turning strawberries, fresh cherries and soft plums that are lifted with a sweaty herbaceous note. Thin and dry on the palate, with almost raisin-esque fruit and angular ruby grapefruit bitter acidity. Tart cherry and some meaty funk but comes across a little unbalanced.
