South Island Pinot Noir 2016

An exclusive to Woolworth’s stores such as Dan Murphy’s and BWS. A very vague labeling with little information of vinification and viticulture.

South Island, Pinot Noir, Central Otago, 2016

A dull garnet colour in the glass. Aromas of sweet cherry and Damson plums with stinky/sweaty savoury notes before a distinct confected boysenberry and vanilla paste component.  Tart and sappy sour cherry, just present tannins (almost as an afterthought) and bitter/burnt oak character. Maybe served with a little chill or alongside food will help the balance.

RRP: $16
Alc: 13%
Rating: 14.5/20
