An exclusive in Australia to Woolworth’s stores: Dan Murphy’s, BWS and Woolworth’s Liquor. Comes with a little gold sticker that has 5 stars and “Recommended by Peter Saunders.” I admit I had to research who Peter Saunders is. Turns out he’s a wine writer in New Zealand. He’s probably never heard of me either.
Toi Toi, Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough, 2017
Stainless steel ferment and some lees contact during maturation. Big time gooseberry, passionfruit, bramble, lime citrus, capsicum and creamy yeasty notes. Delivers on the palate with tropical light pineapple, green apple, nettle, green capsicum and suggestion of what could be construed as grip. Fairly conservative as far the fruit sweetness goes; the green apple acidity is somewhat refreshing and not of balance. More than serviceable.
RRP: (from) $10.40
Alc: 13%
