Good success for this wine, getting the Trophy and Gold Medal for “Best Mediterranean Wine” of Show at the 2017 McLaren Vale Wine Show. Tidy value.

Serafino, Bellissimo, Montepulciano, McLaren Vale, 2017

Fruit sweet nose, blueberry and black jubey fruits, plums, allspice, earthy rhubarb and some vanilla oak. Concentrated fruit that doesn’t push too many boundaries but is stylistically spot on. Cola, blackcurrant, mocha oak with hints of polish, a savoury yeasty bitterness and slightly waxy finish. Good foil for savoury foods or hard cheese.
