Oxford Landing Estates, part of the Hill Smith Family Vineyards (think Yalumba) stable, go to great pains to let you know it is a real place, not a marketing department vineyard idyll.  Winemaker is Andy La Nauze.

Oxford Landing, Merlot, Riverland, 2017

Unencumbered by expectation, this glides smoothly and sweetly across the palate with soft, plump plummy and raspberry fruit supplemented by red apple and light bubblegum aromas. There’s some leafy, sappiness that clouds the back palate while finishing with black pepper steak saltiness and astringent tannins. At this price and the volume produced, its perfectly serviceable for easy pizza/pasta nights.
