This sees 25% new French oak, with the remainder in 1 to 3 year old. Left on lees for 11 months.
Angullong, Fossil Hill, Chardonnay, Orange, 2017
The nose opens with a distinct orange oil note, with cedary oak, light grapefruit, stonefruit and tropicals. Richly textured up front with toasty oak influence and yeasty leesy bread crust, then creamy lemon and crisp regional acidity profile. A tale of two halves with lingering nuttiness. Solid, but needs time to integrate.
