Don’t forget people, Margaret River has Shiraz!
Sandalford, Shiraz, Margaret River, 2017
New French oak maturation really pops the black/red fruit sweetness with an herbaceous, slightly meaty, pulpy tone and sweet kisses of vanilla pod. A little VA lift perhaps, but then this a brash, young thing: All feisty bodied, giving up plenty. The palate offers a respite with fine, sandy tannins calming the farm somewhat. Mid to full weighted, black fruit and a briny, savoury Margs hint. Give it a nice piece of bbq lamb rump over lunch and you’re good to go.
