Shaw Vineyard Estate, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Canberra, 2016
Heady, slightly minty cabernet dominant nose with a distinct mineral line and spine. Mulberry and blackberry fruit provide a fleshy experience while there’s a dusty leather component and clovey spice from the shiraz. A little disjointed on the palate, with creamy oak influences over black/purple fruit and pepper. The tannins full and slightly chunky. Full bodied. Needs time.
