From the single vineyard of Sweetwater Ridge. A powerful, imposing vineyard with an upward trajectory and somewhat imposing surrounds, invoking times of serfdom and reign.
Thomas Wines, Sweetwater, Shiraz, Hunter Valley, 2017
RPerfumed and aromatic. Hints of almost carbonic lift over blue plum, choc-coated raspberries and candle nut/candle wax. Dried flowers and fresh woody spice give a distinct floral element to the wine. The palate gives up seductive and juicy red/blue fruits with a smooth, controlled mid palate before plenty of fine powdery, dusty chocolate tannins fall into place. Oak is comforting and used like a sweet veneer. A wine that easily is the life of the party.
