Mid tier range for Berton Vineyards.

Berton Vineyards, Reserve, Cabernet Sauvignon, Coonawarra, 2016

Cedar, tobacco pouch and ash, eucalyptus (leaf and liniment), black currant, olives (green and black), cassis and coffee grounds. Firm, pushy tannins with black cherry, black berry and blackcurrant fruit edging. Savoury olive gives a point of difference but there’s a touch of heat and hollowness through the mid palate which distracts. A little rustic but serviceable.
