Tahbilk, Cabernet Sauvignon, Nagambie Lakes, 2017

Betwixt and between in some aspects: A modern Cabernet grasping its rustic roots. The melange of blackcurrant, sappy mint and turned earth with coffeed mocha undertones indicates a continued charging of the guard from this central Victorian stalwart. Ultimately a smooth palate with a wink of rustic, blocky tannin. Filled with black fruits: some savoury providing good shade to the light. Good now and good in 15 years.
