Seasoned with a touch of Cabernet Franc, matured for nearly 22 months in oak.
Hastwell & Lightfoot, Cabernet Sauvignon, McLaren Vale, 2016
Dusty and dark aromas with blackberry and mulberry fruit, moist cigar chomp, cooking chocolate and a fair whack of vanillan soaked oak, while varietal mint provides the last word. Medium bodied with tight, astringent tannins. Fruit seems tart and youthful while being covered with spicy oak. Pour into your biggest decanter and give it a big roast meat dish to use those tannins wisely.
