Yalumba, Hand Picked, Shriaz, Viognier, Eden Valley, 2016
No mistaking the Shiraz elements, but with Eden Valley cooler climate undertones giving spice of cloves and fruity cherry halves mixing with the sumptuous satsuma plum and floral elements. A silkily textured wine which glides easily across the palate. Full bodied with tight grained tannins and a slight waxiness to the finish that adds to the complexity. It’s opulent and almost feels a bit naughty, yet the quality is undisputed.
