Here it is…the O.G. The Original.
Rusty Mutt, Original, Shiraz, McLaren Vale, 2016
Pencil, dusty oak over concentrated black fruits, bitter dandelion root tea, dark chocolate, woody spice and split vanilla bean. Punches straight. McLaren Vale minerality jabs away while sandy, grainy tannins hold fast to ensure this isn’t a sloppy fruit bomb. For the now, the oak and tannin dominate fine varietal fruit qualities, but another year may see it smooth right out.
