The Hero (Of Zero) is Fourth Wave Wine’s “No Added Preservatives” label. Fruit classed as South Australia (but McLaren Vale and Barossa are referenced). Made by Corey Ryan.

The Hero, Shiraz, South Australia, 2022

Expected deep garnet with a bright edge. Soft, toasty, charry plum with melted choc and ground black peppercorns with a lanolin/animal edge underscored with mushroom, soya and mocha earthiness. Easy, uncomplicated juice with an acidic constraint constricting the back palate. As hollow as a breath, narrow finish, all bound in contrivance. The juice is clean and bright. Maybe a summer time chill?
