This sees 30% new French oak, with the remainder in 2 and 3 year old oak. Matured on lees for 11 months, with a little stirring. Note: Bottle image is of 2017, but naught else has changed.
Angullong, Fossil Hill, Chardonnay, Orange, 2022
Pink grapefruit, sesame oil, warming butter, candied ginger, a touch of mineral salt, lemon curd and nectarine skin. Salty and minerally on the palate early, with ginger spice and buttery richness as the wine opens up. Maintains leanness and intensity through the ever-so-slightly firm tail. Some time to build in the bottle won’t hurt.
