Part of Allegiance Wines regional stable. From a 26 year old single vineyard in the southern end of Coonawarra. 10 months maturation in French oak (15% new) to drive the now factor.

Deep garnet hue. Smoky cassis and blackberry jam with just turned earth, pouch tobacco, grated couverture chocolate and a hint of sun dried tomato.  A tale of two halves: Brightly fruited up front with slick black and blue fruits before giving way to a mesh of fine, drying tannin. Flavour stops a little short, but a couple of years in the bottle will see development and integration. For now, serve with beef short ribs off the BBQ  or eggplant tagine.
