From the Coppabella vineyard in Allegiance Wine’s home base region of Tumbarumba, part of their upper tier Unity range. Fermentation in oak and stainless steel, followed by 8 months maturation on full lees. Made by the very handsome Will Gilbert with whom I’ve had the pleasure of judging wine.
Allegiance Wines, Unity, Chardonnay, Tumbarumba, 2022

Pale lemon with gold highlights. Hints of leesy nougat and creamy depth, cashew cream, white stone fruit, limey citrus, bacon fat, roast chicken skin, malt hints and light cracker biscuit. After initial stone fruit generosity it narrows displaying regional hallmarks to a tight and linear palate. Fresh blossom over juicy, acidity with a supple, easily toothsome texture.
