Barrel maturation (25% new) into French oak hogsheads, with the rest in older French oak hogsheads and barriques for 13 months in oak. The final blend came to be ~53% new French oak and the rest 1 year old. Winemaker is Lewis White (of Rymill)
Allegiance Wines, Unity, Cabernet Sauvignon, Coonawarra, 2021

Modern and celebratory Coonawarra nose. Blackberry, cassis, choc mint biscuit, fresh bay leaf, moist mossy turf clumps, polished Turkish coffee, warm baked goods and tight cedar. Structure and tension. Dusty Coonawarra tannins just sneaking out underneath a finely woven, dark berry covering. Medium weight with impressive freshness, balance and length.
