Burton McMahon George’s Vineyard Pinot Noir 2022

Named for the winemaking and grape-growing duo of Matt Burton (Gundog Estate, Hunter Valley) and Dylan McMahon (Seville Estate, Yarra Valley) under their Burton McMahon label. The bottle image is of 2018, but nought else has changed.

Burton McMahon, George’s Vineyard, Pinot Noir, Yarra Valley, 2022

Crispy and crunchy red fruit profile with sweet brown spice, char siu pork meaty depth, camphor, lipstick polish, stewing orange citrus (near negroni), fresh mossy earth and fragrant rose petal. Angled and structured with sweet fruit up front before spiced and savoury, dark mid flow. Hyper fine tannins. Focused, balanced and with a sense of purpose.
